Celtic Thunder, the sensational Irish male vocal quintet that performed for President Obama and was named Top World Album Artist by Billboard Magazine in 2009, plays two performances at Hennepin Theatre Trust’s State Theatre, Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.

The group’s most recent special, “It’s Entertainment!,” is currently airing on PBS and spans six musical decades featuring interpretations of classic songs such as "Standing on the Corner"  along with pop hits including U2's anthemic "Still Haven't Found (What I'm Looking For)" and the timeless "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen. The group’s official YouTube channel, “Thunder Tube,” has seen more than six million upload views since its inception in summer 2008 and they remain one of the most popular musical acts for PBS around the country. The Irish quintet has released four albums and three live performances on DVD and opened the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in New York City in 2009. Filmed in front of a live audience in Toronto, “It’s Entertainment!” covers a mix of styles, songs and singers as the group salutes their musical heroes from Fred Astaire to Chicago to The Beach Boys. They are backed by the Celtic Thunder Band and their live shows feature dramatic lighting and choreography, evoking an era of big bands, top hats and tails.
