It will include travel by boat to a

The second tour is the "Landscape & Lore, Music & Myth" which covers the remote west of Ireland. Based in part in the charming town of Clifden in County Galway on the Atlantic coast, travelers enjoy day trips to sites throughout Counties Clare, Galway, and Mayo. This is a spectacularly wild and mostly still untamed region with stone fenced patchwork fields, boygs, mountains, valleys, lakes and streams. The tour guide is Dave Hogan, an academic ecologist, and wildlife biologist. He is a knowledgeable guide with keen interest in the early history of Ireland and mythology. Travels include two boat trips to remote islands with ancient monastic sites, holy wells, Bronze Age stone circles and ring forts along with sites that are seldom seen. There will be an open house at Irish Byways offices located at 889 Grand Ave. in St. Paul from 1-3 pm on the following Saturdays, Jan. 8, 15, 22. Everyone is welcome to stop by and get information about an Irish Byways Tour. For further information on these tours call 920-850-2789 or go to www.irishbyways.com or email
