Terry Flynn Tours celebrates 45 years of showing Ireland to Americans
Terry Flynn had been involved in passenger transport throughout Ireland starting in 1955. He decided that the potential for tourism to Ireland looked promising, so in 1965 he started selling tourism into Ireland from the USA. This year Terry Flynn tours is celebrating 45 years of service to the American market.
Their motto is "Service with the Personal Touch." The company is still headed up by Terry Flynn who worked over 30 years with late Professor Eoin McKierman, founder of the irish American Cultural Institute in St. Paul, and continues to work with Eoin's daughter Deirdre, who leads her own tours to Ireland. Terry Flynn Tours is one of the oldest and most successful tour companies selling the Island of Ireland as a tourism destination for individuals and groups of any size in vacation and incentive travel. "Whatever your special interest may be in Ireland we can provide the answers," says Terry. "We have given travel support for people from the coach level all the way down to just a car and driver for a family so they don't worry about the Irish road system and the driver directs them to sites they would never have found on their own like," explains Flynn. Head office of Terry Flynn Tours is in the small town of Carrick-on-Suir, Co Tipperary (the hometown of the famous Clancy Brothers) and the sales office for the United States is in Lake Elmo, Minnesota.
